The Student Section
About four or five dozen Old Dominion fans were heaved from their seats during last weekend’s game between the Monarchs and the Rams, which VCU won 75-71. They were bounced from the student section to the corner bleachers about fifty rows up.
Their offense (besides the blue shirts)?
They all copped a squat in a spot in VCU student territory.
But what exactly is the student section?
According to the Stuart C. Siegel Center, the $500 University fee puts VCU students in the first five rows of sections 21 through 26 (the Marshal Street side). VCU students can also steak their claim on all the seats along-the baselines behind either basket.
The rest of the gym is filled with reserved single game spots or general admission tickets. As for alumni and season ticket holders, their seats aren’t that hard to find.
They’re the ones with the fancy name plaques.
