Letter to the Editor

Dear Editor:

I wish to call attention to the reporting actions of editorial writer Michael Dickinson. During the past couple of weeks Dickinson has been e-mailing and/or writing letters to certain lawmakers challenging them to debate him at VCU. Dickinson obviously thinks he will gain from this by one of two ways. First, if the lawmakers do come to debate him, Dickinson will no doubt ask them loaded questions to try to play to his constituency. It would be humorous to see them debate Dickinson because these people actually know what they are talking about and would tear him to shreds. Second, if the lawmakers do not show up, he can claim victory that they were in some way afraid to answer to his critiques of their actions. Obviously this is a stunt to try to rectify all of the blunders he made while writing about the 2004 election. Do not be surprised in the future to read about Michael Dickinson sounding off and how elected officials will not answer to the will of the people. Nice try, but Dickinson, you will be way out of your league!
