Are you sick of the media thrusting ads upon you right and left? VCU’s design team is conducting a demonstration to produce responsiveness about the invasion of advertising in our daily lives. The students will be giving out information to the public at the Compass at Shafer Court near the Cabell Library at 11 a.m.

Every Monday night, Easy Street hosts the 9:55 Club Comedy Night. Easy Street has local stand-ups for free admission around 9 p.m.

Tuesday May 4

Come out and support fellow VCU students at the Lois and Ruth Harris Exhibition and Awards in Fine Arts takes place at VCU’s Medical Sciences Building. It includes painting and prints from students at the School of the Arts. Free. 3 to 5 p.m.

Take advantage of this beautiful weather and skate! Laurel Skate Park in Henrico is 6,700 square feet of space for skating. It features ramps, rails, a half-pipe and a bowl. Skaters must wear helmets, elbow and kneepads, wrist guards, shirts and shoes. 4 to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday, noon to 6 p.m. Saturday, 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday.

Wednesday May 5th

Plant Zero is hosting VCU’s School of the Arts graduate students’ work. There are works by eight painters, printmakers and artists on display. The exhibition is titled, “Candid.”

MCV graduate students will try and crack you up with an improv show. Comedy Alley hosts “Vitreous Humor.” $5 7:30 p.m.
