‘Punk’d’

Ashton’s interest in those beautiful boyband hunks continued with his prank on Backstreet Boys’ singer Kevin Richardson. He and “The Real World’s” Trichelle were forced to humiliate themselves to get through a metal detector and into an MTV building. Richardson was forced to drop his trousers while Trishelle was hit on repeatedly by the security guard. Seth Green was the target of Wilmer Valderrama, a previous punkee. Kutcher and Valderrama set up a Hollywood-style craps game with quite a few famous faces. Green was approached by Al posing as an official who said that he was about to shut down the game. Green squirmed and got so nervous when Al said that Green had ratted on Ashton, even though he hadn’t. He was so flustered that it took him a while to realise what was going on, even though Ashton was saying “punk’d” every other word. Dax also got a little too friendly with a lady that he was pretending to prepare to ‘ink.’ Her boyfriend, who was there as well, looked like he was about to assault him right before Dax admitted that he was getting punk’d.

‘American Idol’

Ruben received his first bit of criticism from Simon Tuesday night when Simon commented that he needed a little variety in his song choice. Clay on the other hand, came out of his ballads only slump and did one of Billy Joel’s more upbeat numbers, wonderfully. Carmen, I’m afraid, sang her swan song. She was terrible and even last night’s celebrity judge couldn’t say anything nice about her. Joshua staked his claim through a brilliant song choice, “Piano Man,” and Kimberley Locke won the award for best review from the judges who unanimously adored her. Kimberly Caldwell was extremely fortunate that Carmen screwed up as badly as she did. That twist might be enough to buy Caldwell one last week on the show.
