The 17th place VCU Men’s Tennis team earned their 11th straight win (26th straight home win) 5-0 against Louisville. The Rams defeated the No. 52 team at the Thalhimer Tennis Center this past weekend.

The 17th place VCU Men’s Tennis team earned their 11th straight win (26th straight home win) 5-0 against Louisville. The Rams defeated the No. 52 team at the Thalhimer Tennis Center this past weekend.

VCU started the match with a doubles victory. The Ram’s No. 3 pair, Daniel Casquero and Francesc Lleal, earned an 8-2 win against the Cardinal’s Sebastian Aspillaga and Jakob Gustafsson.

The No. 1 VCU doubles team of Florian Marquardt and Pedro Nieto won 8-4 against Louisville’s Cody Conley and Octavian Nicodim.

In singles play, Nieto (ranked 54th individually) earned a 6-3,6-2 win against 124th-ranked Paulo Carvalho. VCU Ram Matt Norin had a 6-4, 6-2 victory against Harry Walsh. Lleal finished for VCU 6-0, 6-4 against his opposition while Marquardt finished 6-2, 6-4 against Louisville’s Matt Mayer.

Matches for Marton Ott (VCU) and Daniel Casquero (VCU) were suspended. VCU moves to 20-3 for the season and Louisville drops to 18-6.
