Gill gets ‘Back 2 Basics’
“Sorry I’m late,” was Vince Gill’s opening remark at the 9:30 Club in Washington, D.C. last Thursday, referring to the nearly four-week delay of his show, which was postponed because of inclement weather.
With remnants of snow still on the ground, Vince Gill seemed happy to play the 9:30 Club, an unlikely venue for the country musician, which he referred to as “one of the greatest clubs in the United States.
Obligatory Oscars, anyone?
It’s Oscar time again. This Sunday night, millions will crowd around their television sets, either to see Steve Martin’s zany antics, garish gowns or a glimpse of Hollywood’s in-crowd. Elitist film buffs will be tuning in to shake their fists at who was wrongfully awarded the little gold guy.
As the threat of war looms, March Madness plays on
Amid the turmoil and times of uncertainty around the world, I think its time to focus on what’s really important: the NCAA tournament. That’s right, ladies and gentlemen, I said the NCAA tourney. Although it is highly likely that by the time this article goes to print the United States will be engaged in a war with Iraq, NCAA President Myles Brand has stated that today the NCAA men’s tourney will commence – with the Women’s tourney starting Saturday.
Who wants to debate?
The debate has ended. President George W. Bush has declared himself the winner.
That is what the words “… must leave Iraq within 48 hours” from the president’s Monday night speech mean. Of course he’s referring to Saddam Hussein and his sons, but it means so much more.
Students in favor of fee increase to support later library hours
Just when VCU students thought they were safe from increases in tuition and fees, the Student Government Association plans to change that. And the students can blame themselves for the increase.
The VCU Student Government Association polled 500 students to measure their opinions about a possible University Fee increase.
