American Idol Because the performers on Tuesday night were all average, the winners were difficult to pick. The judges all agreed that America would choose Vanessa. You might remember her as the contestant that Simon more or less called fat. Her charismatic personality in the face of a potentially embarrassing situation no doubt helped her get America’s vote, because she did indeed move on to the final two.

Because the performers on Tuesday night were all average, the winners were difficult to pick. The judges all agreed that America would choose Vanessa. You might remember her as the contestant that Simon more or less called fat. Her charismatic personality in the face of a potentially embarrassing situation no doubt helped her get America’s vote, because she did indeed move on to the final two. Rickey, who is best remembered for his “Hercules” chant moved on as well. Although he is talented, and his passing was, as Simon said, completely based on personality. Incidentally, the show also included a poll that revealed that the majority of American Idol viewers in fact agree with Simon’s opinions.

The Bachelorette

In a tear jerking finale, Trista made her final decision between Charlie, the realist and Ryan, the dreamer. With tears rolling down her face, she told Charlie that her heart told her that she and Ryan should be together, and Charlie left with a broken heart. Ryan came to meet Trista next and that’s when the viewers were taken over by goosebumps. Trista told him how she felt and that she loved him, etc. Then Ryan, who has been poetic and “deep” throughout the entire show said all the things that girls dream of their significant others saying to them. Even the cynics out there had to pause and listen as he professed his love. The next night, Ryan and Trisha did an interview (that took place a good while after the end of the show) and announced that they still couldn’t understand how they’d gotten so lucky. Awww!

That 70s Show

Red is still steaming mad about Eric and Donna’s engagement. Donna tries to convince him that they are making the right decision. Eric tries to confront Red, too, and Red ends up firing him from Pricemart so that he won’t be able to afford the wedding. It has been five seasons in the making, but this past Wednesday night Fez lost his virginity to Nina. Although it was less than magical, Nina told him that they would improve with practice. The Jackie/ Kelso/ Hyde drama continued with Kelso giving Jackie an expensive sweater for her birthday. Hyde gets angry because he didn’t even know about Jackie’s birthday. Hyde and Kelso play tug-of-war with Jackie, each trying to make the other look bad in her eyes. Hyde ends up on top with Jackie, giving Kelso the sweater back and gushing about the used Led Zeppelin shirt, which was Hyde’s favorite that he gives her for a birthday present.
