Former VCU women’s basketball head coach Marlene Stollings resigned last Monday, April 7 to accept the same position with the University of Minnesota.
VCU women’s basketball head coach Marlene Stollings’ second-year campaign helped the Lady Rams tie for the 12th largest turnaround in the nation by tallying twice as many wins than the team did in 2012-13.
The VCU’s women’s basketball team improved its record to 20-7 on the season after beating St. Bonaventure University 74-57 on Feb. 19. But with just one game remaining on the schedule, head coach Marlene Stollings’ team is beginning to prepare for the Atlantic 10 tournament.
For all the acclaim Shaka Smart’s team gets, the best basketball player on VCU’s campus might not be on his roster.
