A month and a half into their occupation, Occupy Richmond has already endured two moves and resistance from the local government. Despite the setbacks, the group is still pursuing their peaceful protest. For students who are still active in the occupation, The CT wanted to know: Why do you occupy?
As Occupy Richmond settles into its new location next door to Richmond mayor Dwight Jones, the group is also confronting the mayor in other parts of the city.
Mayor Jones’ next-door neighbor, Raymond Boone, offered his four-acre lawn as a possible location for the Occupy organization.
Yet again, Occupy Richmond is looking for a new location for their permanent occupation after being removed from Monroe Park last night.
