College students from across Virginia met at the General Assembly this past week to lobby legislators about progressive issues, such as Medicaid expansion, women’s reproductive rights and education for undocumented students.
An entire month is dedicated to breast-cancer awareness, but only one day of the year, Feb. 7, pays tribute to the No. 1 killer of women in the United States: heart disease. Three VCUarts students’ work is featured in a collaborative project with the American Heart Association this semester to raise awareness for this silent killer.
Students won’t have to rely on Netflix this weekend to get their movie fix. VCU will host its fifth annual Southern Film Festival this Friday and Saturday Feb. 7-8, which will feature six free films at different locations on or near campus.
