In recent years, Rowdy Ram memberships have become a hot commodity, due in part to the increasing popularity of VCU sports. These memberships are distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis and as a result can be difficult to obtain. For the 2014-15 school year, the Rowdy Ram memberships have already sold out, although specific figures were not available by press time. Last year, the estimated 1500 membership tally sold out in just under one day. In the 2012-13 school year, the RR memberships sold out in less than 12 hours.
VCU, the Fan community and the city of Richmond are working together to provide dumpsters for students to throw their trash in, rather than leave it on the sidewalk as students beginning moving out for the year.
They called it the Rowdy Bus. Forty-six members of VCU’s basketball fan club, The Rowdy Rams, crammed into a coach bus and trekked up to Brooklyn, N.Y. this past week to watch the men’s basketball team compete in the Atlantic 10 tournament.
