A victim reported an off campus robbery near 1208 W. Cary Street early Sunday morning. The incident occurred at approximately 1:30 a.m., but was not reported to police until 5:14 a.m., according to the VCU alert webpage.
Students won’t have to rely on Netflix this weekend to get their movie fix. VCU will host its fifth annual Southern Film Festival this Friday and Saturday Feb. 7-8, which will feature six free films at different locations on or near campus.
VCU’s nationally renowned art programs are no longer limited to just college students. Investigation Now, an art program sponsored by VCU, puts a focus on local 8th and 9th graders.
VCU promoted Police chief John A. Venuti to assistant vice president for public safety on top of his duties as chief this month. In his new role, Venuti will oversee the university police department as well as VCU Emergency Preparedness operations, and retain his sworn law enforcement status. The promotion was announced Nov. 21 and took effect immediately.
