Three days after the VCU baseball team dropped an extra-inning affair to No. 1 University of Virginia, the Rams bounced back with a 5-2 victory against the University of Rhode Island on Friday, April 26.
After opening the season with the best start in school at history at 20-3, the Rams dropped their last three.
Behind three RBIs by Cody Acker and a three-run homer by Bill Cullen, VCU topped East Carolina University 8-4 this past Wednesday on a day where five Pirate errors led to six unearned runs for the Rams.
VCU Baseball begins its 2014 season on Feb. 14 against Radford University. The Rams are looking to rebound from last year’s disappointing season, when they finished 28-26 and failed to qualify for the Atlantic 10 Tournament.
