The basement of the James W. Black Music Center was remodeled for VCU Facilities Management storage at the beginning of this semester, leaving music students who are desperate for more practice space questioning when the need will be addressed.
With the snap of the clapperboard, a class of VCU students rolled cameras to start the first season of a web series produced for a new interdisciplinary arts course.
As I’ve grown, I’ve come to better appreciate the significance of Black History Month. I can (and have) defended its presence, explained its necessity and advocated for its expansion, as have many others before me. Unfortunately, a hazy apathy holds the monthlong memorial back from being as meaningful and effective as it can be.
In just a few days, we will all become witnesses to the most American holiday: Black Friday.
