‘Darkness Falls’ is a B-movie wannabe

While this isn’t a crucial part of the movie, it’s the way the creators of “Darkness Falls” should have gone with their Tooth-Fairy-gone-evil tale. They could have easily given into the idea that their film was a “B” movie. Heck, they should have embraced it.

‘The Meeting’ answers a looming ‘What If?’

The premise was simple, a hypothetical meeting of Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X, but the layers of conflicting views and innuendos were quite meaningful. Having the stage only include a few plain pieces of furniture and a speaking platform kept the audience’s attention on the actors and their interaction that the play centered on.

Wasting an Opportunity

That’s what we as students are squandering. With the all-important conference schedule in full swing, our own team should be playing in front of a packed house night in and night out. Instead, our players compete in front of a mostly uninspired, unmotivated crowd. Last year, VCU went 13-1 at home, including an undefeated conference record. Average attendance: Less than 5,000 per game. This year, the team has already lost two home games, and the average attendance is about 1,500 less than last year, at a sad 3,530 per game.
