Commander Rick D. Husband, 45, was from Amarillo, Texas. He was a colonel in the U.S. Air Force and a test pilot. He earned his B.S. in mechanical engineering from Texas Tech University in 1980, and his M.S. in mechanical engineering from California State University-Fresno in 1990.
With this week being set aside for VCU’s homecoming, I am led to voice my outlook of its importance to our student body. First, I must go back to high school when homecoming was about having fun and showing pride for your school. There was a pep rally, a dance, a parade, a king and queen and things of that nature. Everyone looked forward to each event and wanted to participate.
This is a typical conversation I have when trying to promote music. It saddens me that so few people still own tape decks, and they look upon such as a type of prehistoric entity, one that is to be reviled and avoided. The majority say tapes are messy, both in sound quality and physicality, and old-fashioned. This is the 21st century. Get with the program.
