Seven northern Va. high schools receive bomb threats

Last updated: 2:14 p.m. – Stone Bridge and O’Connell high schools given the “all clear.”

Seven high schools in Northern Virginia have been evacuated after receiving bomb threats mid day Friday.

Herndon high school, McLean high school, Potomac high school, Stone Bridge high School, George Mason high school, Bishop O’Connell high school and Falls Church high school all received threats.

O’Connell received a live threat (someones voice on the phone) and a SWAT team was dispatched.

At 11:39 a.m., Falls Church city schools issued this alert on its website:

“George Mason high School is being evacuated to Mary Ellen Henderson middle school following the receipt of an automated bomb threat this morning by phone, similar to those received by other school divisions around Virginia.”

NBC 4 in Washington reports that earlier this week students at McLean High school were sent home due to a bomb threat.
