Every year, college football coaches around the country must deal with rumors about their job security because of their team’s performance. The Rams took home their first victory of the season at the Greensboro Invitational, winning for the fourth consecutive year. Senior Jay Wyss (Richmond/J.R. Tucker) won the individual title with a time of 26:15. Wyss finished 15 seconds ahead of the second place finisher.

A funny thing happened as the top-ranked USC Trojans marched toward Miami, the site of the BCS National Championship game. The Trojans had to make a pit stop in Corvallis, Oregon to play the Oregon State Beavers. The Beavers season record was 1-2.
