Webfood works like many other online or kiosk ordering systems, said Sean Gay, marketing program manager for VCU Business Services. He compares online ordering to the process used at many gas station/convenience stores, where customers use a touch-screen computer to place their order.
Instead of using a touch screen, members of the VCU community would use their mouse and keyboard to place an order. Then they would pick up their food order at a designated location on the Monroe Park campus or the Medical College of Virginia campus.
“This service is being offered by VCU Dining Services in order to create more value for our customers. This will speed up the purchase process by allowing you to come into the location, pick up your food, pay and run,” Gay said.
The pickup locations will include pilot sites at the new Hideaway Caf
