Derby Demons bring the noise for big event
On Thursday, the Richmond Derby Demons Roller Derby team will present their first Demons Ball at Skateland of Richmond.
The team is excited to host the event, and it will feature bands such as The Deviltones, Radio War, Hallelujah! and No Way Out. The affair will include rollerskating, costumes and raffles for books, haircuts and piercings and tattoos by Red Dragon Tattoo Studio.

There will also be opportunities to challenge the rollergirls in penalty wheel competitions and get prom-esque photos done on a Halloween backdrop.

“Skating with ghosts and ghouls while getting to know the Demons that make up your local derby league. What better way to have fun and get into the Halloween spirit?” said Derby Demon Jen Hoal, a criminal justice graduate student.
The Derby Demons is a Richmond-based female league that is striving to create a strong awareness of women in sports and health in fun and different ways. Members of the team hail from across Richmond, many of whom are VCU students and alumni.
