Designer dogs: the latest fall fashion

The days of inspecting a dog’s pedigree for any flaws may be fizzling to an end. The latest trend is hybrid puppies.

CBS News reported that dogs like schnoodles (schnauzers and poodles) and puggles (pug and beagles) are going for $1,000 in pet stores.

Purebreds are known to have health problems from closeness of genetics. These crossbreeds are gaining the reputation for being healthier, according to CBS News.

With new crossbreeds, however, there is an entire new dog vocabulary to learn.

Here are the names of available crossbreeds:

Schnoodles (schnauzer and poodle)

Goldendoodles (golden retriever and poodle)

Labradoodle (Labrador retriever and poodle)

Puggle (pug and beagle)

Poochin (poodle and Japanese chin)

Cockapoo (cocker spaniel and poodle)

Doodleman Pinscher (Doberman pinscher and poodle)

Peek-a-pom (Pekingese and Pomeranian)

Scoodle (Scottish terrier and poodle)
